Dance Creation 2008

Since its inception 1996, Dance Creation has fostered the talents of emerging choreographers.

Originally presented as a competition, Dance Creation 2008 brings the second season of this new showcase format

Participants whose works will be featured in one exciting programme, were selected by AICD Victoria on the basis of nominations from the artistic directors of major Australian dance companies.

Dance Creation 2008 brings together five choreographers, two of our foremost dance institutions and the artists of Sydney Dance Company, in a program also featuring a live performance of a Japanese virtuoso Koto musician and composer.

This exciting event will be given an exclusive three performances only season at the National Theatre, St. Kilda, 31st October - 1st November, 2008.

“Like all creative artists, choreographers evolve through natural talent and hard work; unlike painters and musicians, they cannot do this in isolation.

With this in mind.AICD Victoria, through DANCE CREATION, provides emerging creators with an opportunity to develop and explore their talent. It provides a forum for these artists to share their work with an audience and creates the possibility of producing Australian choreographers of the future”.
